Initial Learning Environment

Members: Addie Bolton

Theme: Vocabulary Building

Target Age: First Grade

Goal: To improve the student’s ability to correctly use new vocabulary.

QCC’s: Written Language
12. Increase vocabulary to reflect a growing range of interest and knowledge.
14. Classifies and categorizes words into sets and groups with common characteristics.
16. Uses word order and sentence structure to read. (Does sound right?)
17. Demonstrates an understanding of semantic relationships by using pictures, context clues, word meaning and prior knowledge in reading.

Activities:
Use power point presentation to explain the meaning of new vocabulary.
Create different learning centers to group like words together.
Read aloud with partners to determine if words are used correctly or not.
Use blogger sites to practice correctly writing with new vocabulary while posting to other classmates.
Read stories which include the new studied vocabulary.
Answer questions to reflect knowledge and understanding of the studied vocabulary.

Just a suggestion, but if you are teaching a class, you should have a profile. You can also coustumize your template.
