I walked through the door very nervous and hating computers. I never used computers. I did not even think that they were fun to play with. Now, my entire attitude toward computers is different. I enjoy using the computer, and it hardly makes me nervous. I thought that I would never feel this way. I am not the best, but now I am willing to learn a lot more about them. This class has been very beneficial for me.
I do feel much more prepared to walk into a classroom having the knowledge I learned in this class. I did not even know how to attach a document to an e-mail before this class. Now, I feel very confident in many more programs. I can build a website, use educational programs such as Inspiration, create a spread sheet as well as a Power Point presentation, and make a newsletter. I cannot believe I can do all of these activities; I am very proud of myself.
I think much of what I learned in this class I will be able to use in the classroom. I want to especially use both Inspiration and Kidspiration. I think those programs are especially useful and helpful to students. I think that to put these programs to use in my classroom, I will plan to have certain activities that just use them. I also hope that technology is available to my students and me in my classroom. I do not think that it will be very hard to use the technology I learned about during this course in my classroom.
I think it is a very nice addition to have technology resources in the classroom; however, it will not be a huge surprise to me if technology is not readily available. I have always wanted to teach in a very urban/inner-city environment, so I do not have my hopes set high for technology provided by the school. I would love to still bring technology into my classroom with my own personal tools. I feel that technology can always enhance the learning or lesson for the students. I love the break it gives from the everyday reading and question answering. I also feel that researching is a very important skill and the earlier the student starts the better. I also hope to use the internet and computers as a research tool in my classroom.
I hope to keep up with technology throughout my teaching career in many different ways, taking classes, reading articles, through lots of use, learning from fellow teachers and hopefully other ways my school or the system I work for will provide. I think that keeping abreast of what is new in the technology world will prove more and more important over the years.
I think technology is a great tool for everyone, parents, teachers, and students. The teacher of course, will use technology in the classroom but also make it a communication tool for parents to be in touch with the teacher. It makes having more contact with the parents much easier for all involved.

created by Addie
contact me Addieos@aol.com

Database Doc

Project Name:
Categorizing Animals into a Database

Description of Learning Goals:
The students will see the similarities and differences of the animals described in the data base. Topic: Science Inquiry, Process Skills and Problem Solving
Standard: Asks questions, makes and keeps simple records of observations, sorts and classifies objects, communicates with others, makes predictions, uses estimation and measurement, and makes sketches and diagrams to explain ideas. The technology standard would be Topic: Problem Solving/Decision Making Standard: Uses technology to solve problems and make decisions with teacher guidance.

Rational For Technology:
The use of technology will enhance this lesson by illustrating the use of the computer program and the benefits of categories. The students will then understand better which animals live in similar environments and have similar features.

Description of Lesson Implication:
The teacher will give the class ten animals. The students will describe the individual characteristics of each animal. The teacher will write on the board. The class will also observe pictures to see how correct their descriptions were. The class will then create the different categorizes the animals should be placed in. The teacher, with the overhead projection, will create the database. Once the database is created each animals will be placed into the correct field.

Assessment:
The teacher will create a worksheet to be completed as a class. This will contain questions that will require the students to find the correct animal in the database. The teacher will control the computer but the students will direct her. The students will complete the worksheet as the teacher works on the computer. This may not assess each student on an individual basis but will prove the effectiveness of the data base.

Other places:
This activity could be used in many different subjects. I think it would be especially helpful for understanding broad subject material. In a younger classroom the teacher would have to manipulate the technology. This is a very advanced way to use technology in the first grade.

What I Learned:
I think I may learn the class will lose their attention span because the teacher will have to focus so much on the computer. I think this may not be the best use of technology in a first grade classroom. I also learned that I will be very hesitant to create/use a data base again. It is the most frustrating program I have ever tried to use.

References:
Handout from Mrs. Davis
www. glc.k12.ga.us/

created by Addie
Addieos@aol.com

Excel Documentation

Project Name:
Using a spreadsheet to categorize animal characteristics

Description of Learning Goals and Standards:
This lesson is directed to a first grade class. The students will look at pictures of different animals and collect required data. The students will be mainly concentrating on the numerical data associated with each animal. The data will be interpreted by the class and placed on the spreadsheet for calculations. The QCC standard that applies is 1.20 Counting: Standard: Connect number words and numerals to the quantities they represent, using various physical models and representations through 100. The technology standard is 1.12 Topic: Problem Solving/Decision Making
Standard: Uses technology to solve problems and make decisions with teacher guidance.

Rational for Technology:
This lesson will benefit from the use of technology in many ways. The way that I see as the most beneficial is that the students will really be able to concentrate on that actual math component….the counting, analyzing and grouping together of similar animals. The spreadsheet will help to clearly see all the numbers. I think doing this as a class activity will help the students who are struggling.

Description of Lesson Plan:
The teacher will guide the class through this entire lesson. The lesson will begin by projecting the already composed spreadsheet on the overhead. The teacher will explain that she will show the class pictures and the class will place the correct numerical data next to the displayed animal. The teacher will go through all the pictures. Entering data after each one was viewed. Once all the data is entered. The class will analyze it. The class will also answer some discussion based questions and add them to the spreadsheet as well. The class will find the totals and averages of each group listed. Once the lesson is complete the students will get to keep a copy of the completed spreadsheet.

Assessment:
To assess this lesson the teacher would observe the involvement of the students. I will also ask the class to write a summary of the activity upon completion. I would put 3-4 “starter” questions on the board to test for more complete understanding of the lesson.

Other Places:
This spreadsheet could be used in any subject area as long as the teacher has composed it efficiently. I good place for a spreadsheet like is during a math unit on shapes. This was you could group similar shapes together by number of sides, angles etc.

Improve Next Time...
I think it would be good if eventually groups of students could work together with supervision and complete the spreadsheets themselves. I might also split the class into teams during the beginning of the lesson to keep them involved while finding the data.

References/Resources:

http://www.glc.k12.ga.us

www.microsoft.com

Created by Addie 03-31-05
Questions? Addieos@aol.com

Thinking about Bloom

Knowledge: Make a list of the words you already know animals and their environment.
Comprehension: Think about all of the different animal environments we see everyday.
Application: Draw a picture of the environment you are thinking about.
Analysis: Think about if you know what all the objects in you picture are called. The teacher will choose the best article form one boy and one girl in the class that will be published in the class newsletter. The QCC pertaining to summarizing in first grade is: 1.34Topic: Writing Standard: Writes a minimum of three sentences about a topic. The teacher will be using the technology to create the newsletter.

Rational for Technology:
. The class/teacher will create a monthly newsletter in the same format throughout the year to keep the parents abreast to current events. This newsletter will benefit greatly by the use of technology. Microsoft Publisher will allow the teacher to keep a steady format and one that will be easy for both students and parents to read and understand. By having a consistent format the parents will be able to use each newsletter as a reference sheet by knowing exactly where to find all the information they will need.

Description of Lesson Implemented:
The students will be asked to write a summary of their favorite animal the class has studied. The written assignment should be at least five sentences. They will use this assignment to express both individual understanding of the content area and written expression. The teacher will explain to the class that the best boy’s work and the best girl’s work will be published into the class newsletter. The idea of the work being published will hopefully create some good writing samples.

Assessment:
These written samples will be assessed based on accuracy of the subject, complete thoughts and if the student followed the instructions. The teacher will choose the two best assignments to be published in the newsletter.

Other Places:
The teacher could ask for written samples in any subject area to be published into the newsletter. The teacher will focus on different subject areas in this newsletter. I think that a class newsletter is more popular with the parents when works from the students are included.

Next Time…
I will use template in Microsoft Publisher for my next newsletter. I will also use more of the student’s work.

Resources:
www.glc.k12.ga.us/
http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/Quotes%20for%20kids.pdf
www.dictionary.com

Created by Addie Bolton 03.24.05
Any questions contact me Addieos@aol.com

Visual Literacy

I think that visual literacy is understanding the important of using visual aids to help students learn. This technique has been very much advanced in the last 15 years because of the new technology. I think this is great. Teachers should use this resource to the fullest not only for teaching purposes but also to keep the students involved. I looked an activity involving digital cameras. There is nothing more fun than taking pictures and using then for learning...or even learning how to take pictures. Teachnology should be used to its full ponitial in a classroom. Check out tis website: http://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/sbeck/digital/goingdigital.htm for more about digital cameras.

Power Point Slide Show

Project Name: Using a “Power Point Slide Show” to increase the understanding of science/animal vocabulary.

Description of Learning Goals and Standards:
The students will be able to understand fully the definition of given vocabulary word. The QCC for this lesson in grade one is 1.12.Increase vocabulary to reflect a growing range of interest and knowledge. This lesson will also include a Science element of 1.11 Compares and describes different animals in the ways they look, grow, and move; such as tadpoles, caterpillars, kittens, puppies, colts, chicks, snakes, sharks, opossums and eagles.
The technology used will be Power Point slides to drill the vocabulary along with a worksheet. This could be set up as a center or as a projection for the entire class. There will be pictures on slides will be used as context clues. A worksheet will allow for the students to match the definition and express understanding. Some technology standards they apply to this activity are: 1.3 demonstrates an understanding of the uses of technology and communication tools at home and in the community. 1.4 Follows established rules for the care and use of technology tools. And 1.5 operates basic technology tools and applications.

Rational for Technology:
I feel that vocabulary often becomes redundant in the classroom. I think that using Power Point with a worksheet to accompany it will help raise the student’s interest level. The worksheet will help the teacher to evaluate the individual students understanding of the vocabulary. Some advantages of this lesson are that the students would enjoy learning vocabulary this way. This lesson would be very interactive and a great way to the teacher to measure the progress of the class and on an individual basis. If the teacher chose to do this activity in a class setting it may be difficult to teach the students that are having a harder time with the vocabulary. However, the worksheet should help to address this problem. A downfall to this lesson could be that the Power Point Center would take very close supervision and attention of the teacher. It would be helpful to have an extra adult during this lesson.

Description of Lesson Implementation:
The Steps to setting up this lesson:
1. While using the vocabulary being studied creates a Power Point slide show with the words in random order. Add pictures to give clues.
2. Create a worksheet to accompany the lesson. The worksheet will have written out the definitions on one side. On the other side have a place to write out the correct word. The students will find the correct definition as they see on the slide show.
3. In a class of younger students it would be better to do this activity as a whole using a projector. In a classroom using this activity as a center allow only 2/3 students at the computer at a time. This center needs to be supervised.
4. The students can work together but each student will turn in an individual worksheet for assessment.

This activity will be done with time constraints if using centers so keep that in mind when choosing the vocabulary for slides.

Assessment:
The students would be assessed based on their performance on the individual worksheets. This would measure their understanding of the vocabulary. The teacher would have to assess the activity/center based on observation. It will be very important to be available to help with the technology. As the teacher you will need to decide if this activity was a success in your classroom. This activity should be used to break up the cycle of studying vocabulary.

Other Places to use this Solution:
This lesson could be used in all different subjects. I think using power point as flash cards is a very useful tool.

Improve Next Time:
I would like to improve the amount of information be used on each power point slide. A goal for my classroom would be to get the student comfortable enough with power point that the worksheets could be eliminated. The worksheets are good for beginner but older children would not need a worksheet.

Resources:

http://www.glc.k12.ga.us/

http://www.lessonplanspage.com/LAAlphabeticalWarCardGameIdeaP1.htm

http://www.robinsfyi.com/kids/playground/animalgame.htm

http://library.thinkquest.org/11922/index.htm

Any questions contact: Addie Bolton at Addieos@aol.com

Inspiration Activity Documentation

Project Name: A Spider Web of Animal Vocabulary
Using Inspiration to review Animal vocabulary.

Description of Learning Goals:
QCC: Demonstrates understanding of semantic relationships by using pictures, context clues, word meaning and prior knowledge from reading. Will the students be able to use the clues and answer questions reflecting knowledge of the vocabulary? The technology that will be use is Inspiration and the whole class will construct an animal vocabulary web.

Rational for Technology:
The technology in the lesson will help visually link together all the vocabulary to pictures and other ideas to embrace all the studied concepts. I think that adding technology to this lesson will help bring the ideas to life and give the students good visual aids. Which will end to up looking like a food web that the students will study in later grades.

Description of Lesson Implementation:
This lesson will be used with the whole class. The teacher will project an empty Inspiration Web on the Projector. The bubbles well have questions that the students will answer. As the students answer the questions the teacher will complete the web. The web will also include pictures for context clues. As the web gets more and more complete the concept of how it all relates will become obvious. I think that relating the entire concept, as a whole is important at the end of this lesson. The teacher will really want to get across the idea of the entire animal being interrelated.

Assessment:
The students will be assessed based on teacher observation. This lesson will be done as an entire class no actually grade will be given. The students who are having trouble with these concepts will become very obvious due to their level on participation.

Other Places…
This activity could be used for any subject. It works very well for animals because of the food chain idea and how they all relate.

Improve for Next Time…
It would be good to create a few different webs in a copy/paper form for the class to do individual basis in that way they would all get different answers. (There would be 4 different copies). This lesson could also be beneficial in a test format.

References:

I used ideas that I found for my web page project and my own general knowledge:
http://eduref.org/Virtual/Lessons/Science/Animals/ANM0005.html
I found this lesson plan and thought that idea was fun and used it to base my web page activity off of it.

http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/crochunter/australiazoo/08nativesnakes.html
Snake website- Animal planet

http://pbskids.org/cyberchase/games/logic/logic.html
Game

http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/PhotoGallery/GreatCats/9.cfm
Smithsonian Institute
http://www.ftcsc.k12.in.us/resource/currmap/s1vocb.rtf

Copyright Addie Bolton March 3, 2005
any question contact me: Addieos@aol.com

Mid-Term Reflection Paper

When I registered for this class I was very nervous. My entire view of computers was negative and the only thing I ever used them for was to type papers. Now, all of that has changed. My overall opinion of computers and technology has drastically changed since I wrote my initial reflection paper. I use computers now more than I ever have in my entire life. I understand how to use them in so many more ways and how useful they can truly be. I have especially enjoyed learning how to make a hyperlink to anything that I am doing. I find that to be the most useful in my daily life. I am the most excited about being able to use a computer in an effective way especially as a teaching tool. I am getting better and better at using computers everyday. My expectations for what to get out of this course has not changed but is being fulfilled.
I really enjoyed creating my website that hypothetically would be fun and educational for the students. I was very proud of myself when I accomplished that assignment. I came to the computer lab a nervous wreck that I would never figure out Composer by myself, but I did. I even fixed my own mistake. I had hyper linked the Name Anchors the wrong titles but I got it all-straighten out. I felt very computer literate after that.
I enjoy all of the on-line resources we are given during class to complete the assignments. I have found this very helpful. I look at them periodically just to see all the tools that are on the web. I had no idea there was so much for teachers. I discovered a very fun website for my web page that included and interactive yet educational game for the students to play. I was quite impressed with how easy it was for me to find and how easy it was for students to use. I not only find the online resources helpful but the software. I thought that Inspiration was so neat. I think that is such a good way to keep the students entertained learning at the same time. I think that is a great tool for any subject. The final project is also very appealing to the eye. I really want to get a chance to play around with Kidspiration, since I want to teach the younger children.
The only thing that I am still anxious to learn is using photos. I really hope to learn how to post photos to a web page. I love to take pictures and I am really looking forward to learning how to incorporate that media into lesson plans. I have had a total change of heart in the past two months about technology and computers. It does not make me nervous to attempt our projects and I am starting to enjoy them. I am very glad I took this course and I feel that it has been very beneficial for my future students and myself.

Web Page Project

www.student.gsu.edu/~ebolton1/animal_wp.html

Project Name: Using a web page to review student’s understanding of different animals and their characteristics.

Description of Learning Goals and Standards:
First Grade
Topic: The Living World: Animals
Standard: Compares various animal groups and how they are alike and different. Identifies groups of animals that have similar characteristics and names the characteristics.
This activity is to be used as a review for a unit on animals. The students will demonstrate their knowledge of different animals characteristics. The students will demonstrate his/her understanding by completing a web page assignment. The web page will have different sites for the students to explore followed by questions to answer. This web page will help tie together the different types of animals studied as well as exposing the students to new pictures of different animals. The students will also complete an activity of categorizing animals and place each animal in the correct “field” via the Internet.

Rational for Technology:
The web page will be used to see photos of different animals and answer more objective questions based on an individual observation. The picture and categorizing game setup on the web page is very useful and will help the students think about categorizing the animals in a different way. The use of technology for this lesson is mainly for the students to get a more realistic view of animals and ways to observe them in real life.

Description of Lesson Implementation:
This lesson is best used as a review. I would use this in a Science class after/during a unit on animals. I begin by thinking of a beneficial yet useful outlet for the Internet. When working with younger children I think that the Internet is best used for observing pictures that tie all the ideas together. To begin this lesson each student will need a computer, if individual computers are hard to come by it could be completed in a group. The students will begin by pulling up my constructed web page. The class together will read through all the instructions before beginning. The teacher will need to be available for help and observation as there is a lot of Internet navigation included. A worksheet should be provided for the students to answer the questions. I think it could be helpful to use a multiple-choice worksheet especially for younger students. I
1. The students will pull up the web page.
2. The teacher will pass out answer sheets.
3. The class will read through all instructions aloud and make sure everyone understands the entire lesson.
4. The students will begin the lesson by pulling up the first site and answering the questions.
5. The students’ will continue this process until the lesson is complete.
6. The class will talk about what they observed on this lesson and students will turn in his/her answer sheets.

Assessment:
The students will be assessed by their individual performance on the answer sheet. This will help the teacher to better understand if the students understood the navigation of the Internet. The teacher will assess the lesson based on the flow of entire lesson and the student’s enjoyment.

Improvements for next time:
I think this lesson could be improved by including more interactive web sites like the PBS activity. I also think that web page navigation may be a little difficult for first grade students. I might show these same web sites to the class as a whole rather than individual observation.

References:

http://eduref.org/Virtual/Lessons/Science/Animals/ANM0005.html
I found this lesson plan and thought that idea was fun and used it to base my web page activity off of it.

http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/crochunter/australiazoo/08nativesnakes.html
Snake website- Animal planet

http://pbskids.org/cyberchase/games/logic/logic.html
Game

http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/PhotoGallery/GreatCats/9.cfm
Smithsonian Institute

Chapter 6 Scenario 2

I feel that the test scores could have been easliy improved. This is a question being asked to a teacher. The mother who is asking is question is an artist with children at the elementary school. I think art is also a very important subject to teach students. To solve the void in the curriculum the teacher is using the internet. This teacher had created a tour of collections at different museums all across the word. This was made possible by the Internet. This teacher had orchestrated an on line tour of art. The art she chose was from all different time periods and places for the students to view. The students will also answer questions pertaining to the art work that they view on the tour. I think this is awesome. This activity will show the students art work they may otherwise never see. I like this project. I think the students will enjoy the tours of all the selected collections.

Learning about the Internet

Notes from Web Activity:

Good search engines: google,
yahoo,
display
Ways to find news etc: Tile, and Usenet

Use the Big 6 Method (Nuts and Bolts)
1. The QCC for this lesson in grade one is 1.12.Increase vocabulary to reflect a growing range of interest and knowledge. The technology used will be Power Point slides to drill the vocabulary along with a worksheet. This will be set up as a center and pictures on slides will be used as context clues. The worksheet will allow for the students to match the definition.

Rational for Technology:
I feel that vocabulary often becomes redundant in the classroom. I think that using Power Point with a worksheet to accompany it will help raise the interest level. This lesson will help the teacher to evaluate the individual students understanding of the vocabulary. The advantages of using this lesson would be that the students would enjoy it. This lesson would be very interactive and a great way to the teacher to measure the progress of the class on a individual basis. The downfalls to this lesson are that the Power Point Center would take very close supervision and attention of the teacher. It would be helpful to have an extra adult during this lesson.

Description of Lesson Implementation:
The Steps to setting up this lesson:
1.Using the vocabulary being studied create a Power Point slide show with the words in random order. Add pictures to give clues.
2. Create a worksheet to accompany the lesson. The worksheet will have written out the definitions on one side. On the other side have a place to write out the correct word. The students will find the correct definition as they see on the slide show.
3. In the classroom use this activity as a center. Only 2/3 students at the computer at a time, this center needs to be supervised.
4. The students can work together but each student will turn in an individual worksheet.
This activity will be done with time constraints if using centers so keep that in mind when choosing the vocabulary for slides.
If your classroom had more than one computer the teacher could set it up more like the game “war” but for such young students I have used the lesson plan’s big idea and modified it to young students.

Assessment:
The students would be assessed based on their performance on the individual worksheets. This would measure their understanding of the vocabulary. The teacher would have to assess the activity/center based all on observation.

Improve Next Time: I would like to improve the amount of information be used on each power point slide. A goal for my classroom would be to get the student comfortable enough with power point that the worksheets could be eliminated. The worksheets are good for beginner but older children would not need a worksheet. It would be great to use this lesson in an entire classroom setting (on the projector).

Lesson Plan 2

Word Identification and Recongnistion
http://www.lessonplanspage.com/LAWordIDPatternsGoodnightMoonK1.htm
Project Name: Using a Story to Increase Word Recognition.

Learning Goals:
The students will be able to identify words chosen out of a studied story. The words chosen will have to appear more than one time throughout the story. A student will be responsible for recognizing his/her word at the conclusion of the lesson. The student will then write his/her word on the class blog and describe it. (I.e. the first and last letter, the sounds etc.) This is important for extending vocabulary but very helpful for sight words. The QCC that fits this lesson for grade one is 1.14: Classifies and categorizes words into sets and groups with common characteristics.

Rational for Technology:
The students will describe the word they were given during the exercise on the class blog. Your class will also feel very proud and take ownership of their writing and that word. The blog lines will truly make the exercise more fun. This will help the parents know what the class has studied. It is helpful for the parents to use the blog to keep up with weekly activities and know what their child has done.

Description of Lesson Plan Implemented:
The class will study a story. (The given lesson plan uses Goodnight Moon.)
1. The teacher chooses a story with a lot of repeated words.
2. The teacher will read the story to the class.
3. The teacher will write each word on index cards. On half of the cards the words are written and the other half will be the corresponding picture.
4. The cards will be passed out among the class. (Some students will get word cards and other will get the matching picture.)
5. The students will have to find their partner throughout the class and match the word with the picture.
6. These students are now partners. They need to look at the word and picture and determine what letter it starts and ends with, the vowels, etc.
7. The teacher will reread the book. The students will now recognize they word they studied and read their certain word aloud.
8. Now, the students will each write about their words they learned from this lesson on the class blog. On the blog the students will write fun facts about the word and the story.
(This will take a lot of class time and require a lot of attention from the teacher especially the typing part.)

Assessment:
This lesson can be assessed based mainly on teacher observation. The written work should be reviewed but not necessarily graded. The students could also complete a worksheet with the studied words and questions about the story to test for better understanding of the content.

Other Places to use this Lesson:
This lesson could be used in all content area where new vocabulary is being introduced. A teacher could modify this lesson to fit most age groups. The young students will of course like it better but the older ones could always benefit from it.

Needs Improvement….
I see the finding your match as the main problem with this lesson. I think that the movement in the class room should be kept to a minimum. I think the best place for the students to be in on the rug. Then they can move in that area with out involving the desk etc.

Initial Learning Environment

Members: Addie Bolton

Theme: Vocabulary Building

Target Age: First Grade

Goal: To improve the student’s ability to correctly use new vocabulary.

QCC’s: Written Language
12. I know how to use computers, but I do not always enjoy it. Computers make me uneasy. I use them to do all of my school work but I am terrified that one day the computer will destroy everything. I hate to depend on machines. So, needless to say I am worried. After today I don’t feel so unsure. I this course will be interesting. This course will help to understand and appreciate computers more.
I am looking forward to learning how to present materials in a classroom. I have never used technology as a teaching tool in a classroom. I think that will be very helpful. I hope to teach in an inner-city environment and I think the use of technology will be very captivating for my students. I look forward to using the graphics and making a “dull” lesson more enjoyable. I really hope to learn in this course how to use pictures and graphics as apart of my lessons. I want to be able to make learning more enjoyable. I also realize that in such an environment all the resources will not be totally available, but I will make due. I feel that even though the resources may not be available experiences with technology are still very important. I think technology in a classroom should be used for learning as well as enjoyment. I think that the students should get to use the technology as a learning (helping) tool and a way to have fun. I think children enjoy technology and it serves as a great reward for good grades and behavior. I think this course will give me good tools to walk into the classroom with ideas, lessons, and just good experience. I know it is very important as a teacher to understand and use technology. I am excited to get better at it.
I know this course will challenge me and put my computer literacy to the test. I feel ready for the challenge. I am sure I will need to make a lot of time for my project which is one thing I am running out of. I will need to make some special time just for making sure I understand all the concepts and get my assignments done. Yikes...I feel like there is a lot of work ahead of me. I know I can do it. I think I will enjoy it. I am happy to be nervous about a class that is very useful and new to me. It will be fun to learn a lot of new and useful skills.

Student Blog

I thought the blog I read was very sweet. The student was so excited to be sharing her ideas with me. She had a great outlook on learning and teachers. She made me feel very excited about becoming a teacher. Her main advice was to make learning fun. I totally agree. Fun in the classroom has been one of my personal missions. She was very encouraging. I think that blogging is a good way of engaging the students.

first post

I just started a class called technology for teachers.
